~Our Little Girls~

KiYa: Kiya loves to talk, talk, and talk. She loves to be like her sister, and loves to climb on anything and everything she can. She is definately our firecracker, and has a personality of her own. She loves to be the center of attention and loves to make us laugh. She loves reading books and has to have about a hundred in her bed when she goes to sleep, plus all the stuffed animals and babies she can find. She also loves to tease her sister. She loves to be chased by Taya and loves to sing.

TaYa: Taya is such a great helper! She loves to help me whenever she can and loves to please us. She is loving preschool and learning so much. All her preschool friends love her and love to sit by her. She is liking to write, and starting to read little words here and there. I can't believe she goes to kindergarten next year...where does time go? Taya is so smart in many different things. She loves playing the ipod and she may even have to teach her dad how to work it :) Taya loves her little sister and they are such great friends. Don't get me wrong they do have their moments when they are fighting, but what sibling doesn't?

Our girls are the center and the joy of our lives!!! We love them with all of our hearts, and couldn't imagine life without them!!! We are so blessed to have such sweet girls, and we cherish every moment we get to spend with them!

We went to watch the fireworks here in Logan. We always get Wendy's for the girls and Juniper for us. We go sit in a parking and play games. We also surprised Nanny, Mammy Becky and Aunt Bri and Brody by showing up at the Kaysville parade. Wow...what a parade! We also went to Bear Lake for a day with Vera, Jeff and their kids and Vic, Anton, and their girls.

We went to Daytona Beach and Savanah Georgia for our family vacation this year. It was a blast, we loved just hanging out at the pool and enjoyed spending time with the Bouvangs (our second family) and their Georgia family who were so welcoming! We were able to take Taya and Brody to Disney World without having the babies...thanks to Katelyn and Becky, who loved watching them. Although we had a monsoon while at Disney World, we still had a blast and Taya loved going on the rides especially Splash Mountain.

What a joy is has been having Taya in our lives! She is such a sweetheart and such a great big sister! She loves her sister and loves playing with her (most of the time.) She is so smart and is such a beautiful little girl! What a little angel we have been blessed with! We can't believe she is already 4. Time definately flies when you are having fun!

Well here is a little update on what is happening at the Haslam Household...

Kiya is walking and has been for about 2 months. She is beginning to run...which is definately a good and bad thing :) She is talking quite a bit, but most of it we still can't understand. She loves copying her older sister and loves being where she is. She is going to be our firecracker. She is very headstrong and stubborn. She loves to tease, be chased, and loves giving kisses. She loves her Daddy! She gets so excited whenever he gets home!

Taya has been going to Preschool and has been learning so much! She just finished on May 20th. It's amazing how smart she is! She is very good with directions also. Whenever we are driving around she knows when we get to Daddy's road or when we are passing his work, or where we turn to go to Kids Klub. I don't even say anything to her and she knows! She also loves playing with her baby sister and loves being outside. She loves to ride her bike and scooter! She is such a good helper also. She always wants to help with the laundry or with cleaning...I hope she keeps wanting to! She loves babies! Real ones and dolls! It's amazing how early their motherly skills develop!

Happy Birthday our little baby girl!!!

I can't believe it has been a year since all of that excitement. Kiya is doing so well! She is crawling all over the place, and says Hi, momma, dadda, ball, ba ba (bottle), Ta (Taya) and a whole lot more but i'm not sure what it means. :) She also loves to dance and make fish lips. Kiya is trying to walk and does well walking along the furniture and loves to push whatever she can on our kitchen floor for example a tote or a chair or an empty box. Kiya has such a cute personality! She loves to smile and laugh and just be loved! She just loves her big sister Taya, and loves to be wherever she goes and play with whatever she has. She loves when Taya chases her too. She laughs and screeches and trys to crawl as fast as she can. Taya overall has been really good sharing with her! Taya loves Kiya so much too! She loves to hold her and carry her. Sometimes she is just a little rough, but that will toughen her up...right.

Happy Halloween! Well I will have to get some pictures in a bit but Taya decided to be a pumpkin (and came up with that herself) and Kiya was a Ladybug. Oh they looked so cute and Taya loved getting all that candy!

Kiya is 3 Months Old

Wow, where has the time gone? I can't believe Kiya is now 3 months old. She is doing great! She is smiling so much more, and loves to tell stories. She loves to sleep on her Daddy's chest and he loves holding her! She is blowing bubbles and is such a little drooler. She loves sucking her fists and loves clenching her thumbs inside her hands. She is so alert and loves just looking around. She also loves looking at Taya, and tells her so many stories too. I forgot how fun it was having a newborn!

What a perfect day! We decided to have Kiya's blessing at our house due to it still being RSV season. Shane did such a great job, and wow was the spirit felt! Thanks to everyone that could come and support us, and to everyone who wished they could be there.

When Taya was younger we would always do "noses" or eskimo kisses and so she decided to do it with Kiya. She did it all on her own. It was so cute!

WoW...Does time fly by! I can't believe it...Kiya is now two months old. She now knows how to work the system. By that I mean, she knows if she cries hard enough, she will get picked up and get the attention she wants. It just amazes me how early in life they learn that. Anyways, she is just so cute! She loves looking at faces, and her neck is getting so strong! She can hold her head up for quite awhile. She also loves looking at bright lights, and is starting to find her fist. It has been quite an adjustment for Taya having a baby sister...but she sure loves her baby sister. She always tells me "I love my baby sister soooo much."

Kiya is 1 Month Old

Kiya is officially one month old today. What a joy she has been! She is such a good baby, she only cries when she is hungry...well screams. She is 6lbs 5ounces and 18 1/2 inches long. We only had to have her on the oxygen at home for a week. Taya had a hard time at first when we brought her home, but she is warming up to her baby sister. She loves giving her kisses and always wants to hold her. She is such a great helper, and loves to watch whenever she is getting changed or having her bath. We are so lucky to have her in our family! What a sweet spirit she brings to our home!

Kiya Maren Haslam

Kiya made it here on December 20th. She decided to come six weeks early. She weighed in at 5 lbs. 8 oz. and was 18 inches long. She has tons of blonde, curly, soft hair. She hasn't quite made it home yet. She is in the NICU for the time being getting the care she needs. She and mom are doing great! Once she continues to eat well for three days straight she will be coming home, which is hopefully soon!

Taya just loves Cinderella, so that is what she was for Halloween. If it was her choice, we would watch Cinderella not just once a day, but as many times as possible. What a beautiful Cinderella!

Big girl bed

Our little girl is growing up. We moved her into a big girl bed and what a easy transition it was! She has only fell out once, but she climbed back in and went back to sleep. In the morning she doesn't realize she can climb out by herself, so she lays in there calling "Mommy, mom" so I can come get her. I don't think I will teach her that she can climb out just yet...I'm sure she will learn that one in no time.

Heritage Place Corn Maze

Well the girls went to the corn maze this year. Vera, Kelsie, Kenzi, Vic, Mal, Taya and myself. Taya wasn't so sure about getting stuck in the corn maze, but she loved putting her face in the little wood faces, and loved the little kids hay maze they had. Her and Kenzi, just keep running around and around. A couple of the times, she needed help and you could hear her little voice..."Kenzi help me." She also liked all the lit up Halloween things.

Can I just say, that watching two 2 year olds can definately be fun and exciting. This is Aidan, who lives next door. The two of them love hiding in the pooh bear couch and I had to come in and find them. I have never heard the two of them laugh so hard.

Girls Trip...TO CHICAGO

Well, I went to Chicago with my mom and two sisters, and without any kids. It was so fun, and we did so much walking, and so much shopping, and of course so much eating. What else do you do on vacation. A few of the things we did was go to a Broadway show called Wicked, went on a walking food tour, and went to the Art Institute of Chicago. One thing I need to mention, is that the cab drivers are CRAZY! I really thought we were going to hit another car driving from the airport to our hotel. We difinately had some close calls, but luckily we didn't. The drive from our hotel wasn't quite as bad. Our cab driver owned his cab, so he was a bit more careful.
Shane and Taya were able to spend quality time together while I was gone. I missed them so much, but it was a good break before our new baby comes.

Family Home Evening

We decided to decorate Halloween sugar cookies for Family Home Evening. Shane and I did the frosting, and Taya did the sprinkles. She did such a good job, and of course she had to taste one, or two, or maybe even three. I lost count. She posed for the picture with part of her cookie hanging out of her mouth. She thought she was so funny.

Well, Taya and I got our flu shot this week. She was so brave, and only cried for a minute, until the nurse showed her the suckers. It's amazing what candy can do...isn't it. Anyways, I went to the doctors and my baby is still spine up, but we were able to see her lips, nose and heart. Everything we couldn't see last month. I just love being able to see her. We can't wait to meet her!

Being Pregnant...with my sister?

What a fun (and exhausting) experience it has been being pregnant with Taya around. She is so cute when she rubs my belly and says " Hi baby sister." Well the good side is now I have an excuse to take a nap everyday with Taya. Somedays I am so tired, that our nap can't come soon enough.
We found out a little while ago that my sister Bri is pregnant also. I am so excited to be pregnant with her. I never thought we would. My baby is due the end of January, and hers is due the middle of April. Our babies with be only three months apart. How fun is that going to be!!!

Well we went to Bear Lake with Shanes side of the family over the 4th of July. We ended up getting two condos between all of us. We went to the beach, played games and just hung out, and of course ate a lot... What else do you do on vacation? Taya just loves her cousin Kenzi...she was at her side all of the time... with their babies of course

Taya and I did the Parent-Tot Swimming lessons. She was scared at first...but now, she absolutely loves the water!!!

We went camping up Logan Canyon with the Cutlers. Taya loved riding in her new wagon with Kenzi. The Mencks and Shanes parents come up a couple of the nights to hang out and have dinner. What a blast we had!

I know I know...I haven't been as up-to-date as I would like to be...so here is the scoop on what has been going on lately at the Haslam Household...

Well Taya turned The Big 2 on May 23. She wasn't the happiest of campers considering she had Rosyola and had a fever. Poor little girl, but she was a good sport and we still had her birthday party. Thanks to everyone that came and enjoyed the day with us!

We had the Zimmerman Family vacation the end of May...and I took the camera, but I am horrible at taking pictures, so I will post some as soon as I get some from Bri. :)

My cousin Alan married Kelsie on June 6th in the Manti Temple. We were so grateful to be able to be there and experience this great time in their lives! Boy were the kids being so good... Thanks Nanny, Poppy, Aunt Dem, and Uncle Eric for watching them.

Well thats all for now. I know I have some more postings...but I think that is a good start on what has been going on with us.

Taya had fun looking for all the plastic eggs at the easter egg hunt we went to, but she didn't want anything to do with the Easter Bunny. On Sunday, we ended up stopping at my mom and dad's house where Taya was able to ride Brody's four wheeler (in her Easter dress) and then went down to Grandpa and Martha's house for dinner. Taya had so much fun playing with her cousins Brody and Jaycee.

So I decided to get Taya's pictures taken in September 2006 by one of my friends who takes pictures out of her house. They turned out so cute!! She was such a good sport while I changed her from outfit to outfit. Yep that is a real flower pot, and she didn't mind at all sitting in it.

What a day...but wow was it worth it! Taya decided to enter this world a little earlier than planned. She decided to come 10 days earlier then expected. Everything went as best as it could have when we were able to meet her on May 23, 2006 at 9:12 a.m. What a beautiful baby girl!

WOW I Didn't think I would make it

So I finally made it through school. I didn't think it would ever happen, but I am glad I kept with it. I got my degree in Family Finacial Planning. I graduated from Utah State University on December 18,2004, and was the first class to graduate after the Fall Semester. I was so proud to do the walk when they called my name. It was a glorious moment for me and my parents!
